Indian soup. This is a creamy, curry dish and can be made with yogurt, cream, nut and seed paste or coconut milk. Like most Indian foods, this has a very strong flavor of curry, ground coriander and cumin. And the smell sort of emanates out your pores after you eat it. Indian food is always an adventure

Baklava. A lovely Turkish treat. It is a pastry made of layers of filo dough filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey. I have great memories of this as a child with my grandfather, who is Greek, who would always bring it over.

Red, yellow, and green bell peppers stuffed with risotto and baked for an hour. Made fresh by my sister. She slaved over these for a couple of hours, and it took me a couple of minutes to scarf it down. Thanks, sis.

Good old fashioned, store bought, California rolls. I believe these came from Whole Foods. Not the best sushi in the world, but perfect for lunch on the go. Anything with avocado in it is good by me.

This means 7-hour lamb for all of you non-French. Truly the height of French cuisine, in my opinion. Still considered one of the greatest meals I’ve ever eaten. Especially when topped off with a Cabernet Sauvignon. Tres magnifique!

How good does this look? I swear I could eat sushi all day long. Or sashimi. I still can’t decide if I like salmon the best. This plate is from Zen-Sushi in Los Angeles. Need the ginger and wasabi as well.

Talk about variety. It looks like we have on of everything here: sushi and sashimi, salmon, spicy tuna, yellowtail, eel. And trust me, I will eat it all. I am a sushi queen. I am still on a quest for the best sushi in Los Angeles. I need lots of ginger though. And wasabi.

Anybody ever heard of Balut? It is a fertilized duck (or chicken) egg with a nearly-developed embryo inside that is boiled and eaten in the shell. They can be found sold on the streets of Vientam and Cambodia. Apparently, if they are not cooked properly, the chick is still alive in there. Don’t ask me why I even attempted to eat this. I’m adventurous, I guess. Try for yourself sometime, if you dare
