WYEI Community Guidelines
WouldYouEatIt? is a community of food lovers from around the world who come together to post photos of meals and food items, comment about their best and worst dining experiences, and have the chance to experience with others the ideals of eating food.
WYEI accounts are intended for personal use, for our members to share food photos that they themselves have created and experienced.
The following Guidelines are here to help you be a good member of the community, and help you understand what it means to experience WYEI.
If you have any questions or concerns about usage of WYEI, please feel free to visit our FAQ page, or else contact us at
.
(Don’t forget that your use of WYEI is subject to these Guidelines and our Terms of Use.)
What To Do
We like to think of ourselves as a virtual communal dining table, at which everyone has a chance to take part in the dining experience. We hope that everybody comes to the table, and brings some food to share. And hopefully you will leave this site feeling a little more hungry.
As stated above, we are a virtual communal dining table. Because of that, there are many of us, from all across the map, representing various ideologies and opinions. Please be polite and respectful in your interactions with other members.
Respect the copyright of others. This means don’t steal photos that other people have shared and pass them off as your own.
Our community is pretty liberal in its interpretation of food. If you can conceive of somebody eating it somewhere, then we will accept that content. With that said, please respect the fact that is a site for food-related content, and photos of things other than food should perhaps be posted on another site.
You need to take responsibility for ensuring that what you upload is appropriately flagged. If your judgment proves to be poor, we’ll moderate your account to match appropriate ratings for safe search and/or content type and send you a warning.
We very much encourage everyone to participate in mobile uploading, which is a very cool feature of the site. Whenever you are out to dinner, remember to snap a photo and send it to your personal account.
What Not To Do
In the WYEI community, we are pretty trusting of our community members, and their intentions. We assume that people come to the site to share in the experience of dining and eating. However, we still want to make it clear that there are certain things that should not be done in this community:
If we find you doing that, your account will be deleted and we’ll take appropriate action, which may include reporting you to the authorities. No derogatory images. Basically, no images that are not food-related.
This includes other people’s photos, and/or stuff you’ve collected from around the Internet. Accounts that consist primarily of such collections may be terminated.
Take the opportunity to filter your content responsibly. If you would hesitate to show your photos to a child, that means it needs to be filtered. Ask yourself that question as you upload your content and moderate accordingly. If you don’t, it’s likely that one of two things will happen. Your account will be reviewed then either moderated or terminated by WYEI administrators.
Only content considered “safe” is appropriate for your buddy icon. If we find that you’ve uploaded a buddy icon that contains “moderate” or “restricted” content, we’ll remove the buddy icon, moderate your account as “restricted” and send you a warning. If we find you doing it again, we’ll terminate your account.
WYEI is a food lovers community, not a bully pulpit. It is not a venue for you to harass, abuse, impersonate, or intimidate others. If we receive a valid complaint about your conduct, we’ll send you a warning, or terminate your account.
WYEI is for personal use only. If we find you selling products, services, or yourself through your photos or comments, we will terminate your account. Any other commercial use must be approved by site administrators.
