Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Would You Eat it (WYEI)?
   Would You Eat It is a fun place to share and rate food you’ve eaten, food you want to eat, and food you wouldn’t be caught dead eating! You can vote on every food photo on the site to tell everyone if you would eat it!  If you are a registered member of WYEI, you can also comment on all the photos.  In addition, registered members can save the photos they especially love to their “My Hearts” sections.  Those of us who live by the 20-second rule, and are proud of the long-forgotten leftovers gathering mold in the bottom corner of our refrigerators, can also use “My Hearts” to keep track of the most disgusting photos you’ve enjoyed on the site. And registered members can upload their own food photos to the site.  Click on the “Upload” tab at the top of any page and go! 
Food is fun.  Come play with us!
2. How do I register?
   Easy!  Go to the box on the top right of any page and click on “Register.“  That will take you to a registration screen.  Pick a username and password, fill in your email address and birthday, agree to the Terms of Use, and go!  You’ll get an email very shortly with a link.  Click on the link to activate your account.
3. How do I upload my food photo?
   There are two ways to do this:  while you are at your computer, and from your camera phone.

   At your computer:  Click on the “Upload” tab on the WYEI site and follow the directions.

   With your camera phone:  Use your special email address to send your photo.  You can find your WYEI email address by clicking on the Upload tab.  Use the subject line of your email as the title of your photo and the body of your email to add a description.  (You can go online later and edit your submission if you need to.)

4. I’m having trouble uploading my photo?  What is happening?
   Your picture should be under 1 MB.  If you have disabled your browser from accepting cookies, you need to enable cookies.
5. I lost my username/password, or my username and password don’t work. Can you help?
   Registered users can click on the “Forgot Your Password” link in the login box.  You’ll receive an email with a temporary password.  Login with the temporary password, then change it by going to “My Eats.“
6. I want to report an inappropriate picture (porn, etc.).
   Click on the thumbs down icon on the page where you see the offending photo and report.  Pictures that are reported get queued and re-evaluated by our administrators.
7. Can I take any of my pictures off the system? Can I delete my post?
   Yes, once you are logged in and on your profile page, you can delete any of your photos. You can control all of your own content on WYEI, from your photos to your comments.  If you have deleted your account, all your photos and comments will be deleted.
8. How can I contact you?

9. How do I change my personal information in my profile?
   You can do all of that on your profile page.  Go to “My Eats” and click on “My Profile.“  You can edit your info there.
10. I found a Bug/I have a suggestion.
    We’re in Beta, so we’re still squashing bugs!  Let us know what you find and any suggestions you have for improving the site at .
11. Who owns these photos?
    Rights to all uploaded photos are retained by the account holder who uploaded the photo.
12. What’s “What’s Cooking?“
    That’s where we, the WYEI team, get to relay site news and updates, and generally sound off on our favorite topic, food!  We want to seed the conversation on food, and highlight both the highs and lows of eating! What’s Cooking is also the place where you can learn about our contests and giveaways.
13. What is the tag cloud on the bottom right of the page?
    Those are the most often tagged words on our site.  Click on one of those words and you’ll get a list of all the posts that mention that particular term.
14. Does WYEI have a widget??
    We sure do! Click on “Get Widget” below to add embed the widget on your own personal website or blog.

 

15. How can I delete my account?
    
    Why would you want to do that??? Just kidding. If you want to delete your account, email and we’ll take care of it.
