About Would You Eat It?
Would You Eat It? is a community of food lovers from around the world who come together to post photos of meals and food items, comment about their best and worst dining experiences, and have the chance to experience with others the ideals of eating food.  Via photos and comments, we are recreating a virtual communal dining table, at which everyone has a chance to take part in the dining experience. We can all share, inform, and connect with each other through our experiences with food - both good and bad.

WYEI was founded by four USC grad students in 2008 who met as members of the same cohort at the Annenberg Program on Online Communities. As avid foodies studying the past, present and future of social networks and communities online, it made perfect sense to create a destination for like-minded food lovers to rate photos of their favorite - or least favorite - foodstuffs.

The Would You Eat It? Team:

Erika

imageFavorite Food Moment: Exploring the backstreets of Paris in 2001 with my husband, Mike, and finding Le Petit Verdot, our absolute favorite restaurant. It was the first time I experienced foie gras, and my gastronomic life hasn’t been the same since.

Least Favorite Food Moment: Being forced to take a bite of a raw onion on a field trip when I was in fourth grade.

Arienne

imageFavorite Food Moments:  The smell that permeated our house when my Mother made and canned her own ketchup when I was a kid.  And the taste of strawberries and raspberries eaten off of the vine from my Grandma’s garden.

Least Favorite Food Moment: Inadvertently making rolls with old yeast - last time I don’t proof yeast.  All that work, and I ended up pulling horrible little dense bricks out of the oven!

Greg

imageFavorite Food Moments:  Sunday mornings at the local farmers market, where I always get banana pancakes, organic strawberries, and fresh-baked bread, among other things.

Least Favorite Food Moment:  Showing off for an old girlfriend at a French restaurant in Seattle and ordering the steak tartare, which left me violently ill the next morning.

imageFavorite Food Moments: Spaghetti Bolognese on a backstreet in Rome with my best friend while we were touring Italy as members of our college marching band. In that moment, the only language that was necessary was food. Close second would be Omaha steaks in Omaha, Nebraska before a USC football game.

Least Favorite Food Moment:  Dark day of undergrad and I had seriously run out of food so dinner was relish on potato chips. One of those times where I probably should have just not had anything to eat.
